MEET OUR STAFF
Sensei Martie Krohn has been leading the Homer Shotokan Club with the help of Sensei’s Dean Sundmark and Aaron Glidden for 30 years. The “Karate Club” has been around for 40 years and is on its 5th generation of Black Belts. This program was started by Sensei Garry Richardson and then passed onto Sensei Martie.
Sensei Martha began training in Cuong Nhu in 2001 at the age of 6 in Seattle, WA unders Masters Ricki and John Kay. Sensei Martha earned the rank of Shodan in 2012 in Okinawan- Karate- Do. Sensei Martha returned to Cuong Nhu during her time at Clemson University earning her black belt in 2016 and her Shodan in 2017. Martha moved to Homer in May 2017.
Sensei Aaron Glidden, born and raised in Homer, has been training in Martial Arts on and off since he was 11 years old. He started at the local Shotokan dojo and stayed there until he went to Clemson University where he was introduced to Cuong Nhu. Sensei Aaron earned his black belt in Cuong Nhu in the spring of 1997. He earned the rank of Shodan in Shotokan in April 2017.
